PROaupair is the only au pair agency in Australia with a focus on sourcing au pairs with professional training and backgrounds. Our au pairs are basically international nannies and uniquely qualified to provide high calibre care.
To qualify for PROaupair’s childcare program, au pair candidates must have a degree or professional experience in a childcare-related field. Candidates also complete an extensive application that includes background and credentials.
The majority of our professional au pairs hold a degree in one of the following professions:
- Early Childhood Education
- Occupational Therapy
- Paediatric Nursing
- Physical Therapy
- Special Needs Caregiving
- Special Needs Education
PROaupair sources professional au pairs directly through our large network of European universities, vocational training schools, hospitals and referrals from organisations such as the German Red Cross. PROaupair has an office in Germany and our admissions team carefully screens and interviews candidates to ensure they are qualified and meet our strict screening process. Not everyone is accepted onto our program. Most professional au pairs are German, but PROaupair also offers candidates from Austria.
International Work Experience
Professional au pairs are motivated to live and work in Australia so they can gain international work experience in their childcare-related field, experience life in another country, and perfect their English. They are also excited about getting to know Australians and life in Australia. The opportunity to spend a year living and working with a host family in Australia also provides them with unique career experience that will differentiate them from other job seekers when they return to their home country.
